I havent posted for months and months on this blog =( well, life has been a super whirlwind these few months since JC life started thats for sure, everyones rushing something here and there thats for sure. Im thinking of typing a special for the next post in commemoration of me finally posting, but haven't really thought of anything yet. For this post, I'll just give a brief review of some of the movies I've recently been watching.
First would be TERMINATOR: salvation, it definitely gets the award for most awesome graphics in any movie I've watched so far. I remember staying morbid in my seat throughout more than two hours despite very very urgent calls of nature and a contact missing from my eye. The plot itself is fresh, although what really impresses is the action scenes. As a child i followed the Terminator series since Judgement day and its action scenes still send my heart racing. From the part in JD where T-800 breaks the T-1000 after freezing it using liquid nitrogen to the fight scenes in Terminator 3 : Rise of the machines, the terminator series retains its thrilling action sequences to keep me glued to my seat. Now the action scenes are much more regular, with the protangonists constantly fighting constructs from a T-600 to giant robots and a super buff T-800.
The Taking of Pelham 123 may have an expected main plot, train passengers are held hostage, ransom is demanded, hostages are saved, hostage-takers try to escape, hostage-takers fail. However, the feature to take note of would be how well the film makers have devloped each individual character. Even the terrorists can be sympathized with when the movie allows us to view the mentality of his actions. Action scenes are also thrilling as the semi-deranged hostage takers are anything but predictable. The main theme of heroism throughout the movie is also ever-present, making for quite a deep film beneath the surface. One thing i dont really like, however, would be the way the film makers have decided to downplay most of the non-main characters in order to emphasize on the heroism of the protangonist. Otherwise, this movie is a good watch to consider when visiting the cinemas.
Thats it for now i guess, homework pile not getting any thinner, cyas!
