Muahaha =D

Okay, felt like posting up a chess special, since I'm so into chess these days.

Alright to start learn to play chess, theres always helpful tutorials you can find online just by searching. Theres always asking for friendly neighbourhood chess player.

Now that we have that out of the way, chess is actually a pretty fun way to spend the time.

Alright, not so much if your a beginner, but it gets better as you progress. It's a game that rewards your concentration, skills of observation and most importantly, real-time strategic thinking. (Not only for ah-peks like some people *winks* says)

On the contrary, you need a pretty good memory to excel in this game. Forget for a moment why you placed your house in that spot and thats game over right there.

Which brings me to my favourite moment in chess, the check! Nothing beats being able to say 'checkmate!' to your friend and watching his/her sign of resignation =D.

Of course, in English chess, theres always the stalemate scenario which is often unavoidable in a massacre game (The opponent kills everything save for your king ) In this case, the opponent ends up placing your king in a position where you can't move anywhere without being in an open check and the game is drawn.

Chess generally requires patience and a clear mind. Contrary to popular belief, you DO NOT have to think ten steps ahead or have a clairvoyant mind. You simply need to be able to predict your opponents next move. The most common mistake a player makes is to place a piece in a spot already targeted by an enemy, leading to a 'freekill' for your opponent.

Of course, there are always those *ahem* Chingjun *ahem* who don't really consider before making their moves. 'yessir!' 'nosir!' 'oh crap sir' >.<, which actually makes them harder to counter because its sometimes really hard to predict where they're going with their
current move set.

Alright end of week one of the 'O' levels. Surprisingly taxing. Chem was Epic win and so was Amaths and emaths. Econs was...unexpected? Disappointing actually, i was hoping for a chance to...test my economics =D, well, at least i should feel lucky its an easy paper. Engrish was okay, geog was...T.T ( WHY DIDNT THEY HAVE A LORMS QUESTION FOR EARTHQUAKES??????????????????)

Anyways, I'm pretty rusty for CH, hope i can get back in track =D
Meh, I'm kidding myself if i say im going to study after this.

ALRIGHT! Cant wait for the exams to be over and done with. May be posting some CH essays for fun. Plagiarize if you want >.<

Arguments for and against Free trade:

Free Trade is a system in which the trade of goods and services between or within a country flows unhindered by government restrictions. Intervention includes taxes and tariffs and non-tariff barriers such as regulatory legislation and quotas.

The reverse of Free Trade would be the policy of Protectionism, which is the economic policy of restraining trade between nations through methods such as tariffs on imprted goods, restrictive quotas and other restrictive government legislation to discourage imports and prevent foreign takeover of national companies.

In adopting free trade, the country is allowing the maximized efficiency of factors of production through specialization, where countries can produce goods and services in which they have the least opportunity cost. As such, world resources would be most effectively allocated on a global scale.

Consumers would also face an unrestricted choice of goods and services without free trade as a resultant of unrestricted access to imports.This hence provides a better standard of living as well as a wider range of choice.

In opening the nation's firms to external competition, monopolies are prevented from forming due to the wide range of choices available to consumers (ie; large amount of substitutes). This would furthermore increase the efficiency of firms to produce due to similar foreign competition.

This would likely lead to the transpassing of a country's Production Possibilities boundary, leading to a shift to the right in the curve from optimal resource allocation due firstly to specialization, by cheaper imports of raw materials and throught he sharing of knowledge and technology. As such, the country is able to produce more and this would hence facilitate development of the economy in general from a better Balance Of Payments position n the global market.

In this scenario, trade retaliation does not occur due to unbiased treatment of various goods and services.

However, on the flip side, cheap imported goods may increase local structural unemployment. Consumers would likely choose more attractive foreign imports to local imports if prices of these imports are cheaper and unaltered by taxes or tariffs. Due to a deficiency in demand for local products, firms would face lesser revenue and production would reduce, hence layoffs would occur. Firms may also choose to reduce prices to remain competitive. In doing so, the firm has less funds to channel into the labor force, leading again to retrenchment.

Infant industries are also in risk of being taken over or forced out of business by foreign companies which offer lower prices. Demand for local goods would unavoidably fall due to more incentives to purchase foreign goods. Small infant industries would unlikely be able to sustain itself in such a hostile environment and likely run into subnormal profit, forcing firms in the industry to shut down.

A high level of demand for foreign goods would facilitate a subsequently high level of imports. This would likely reduce a country's BOP surplus or increase the BOP deficit, leading to further problems in a country's reliability for investmentand others associated with a drop in BOP position.

Furthermore, supplies of imports sometimes prove unreliable and results in countries unable to obtain the raw materials they require to facilitate production. This leads to more serious problems such as shortages and structural inflation.

In conclusion, in an ever developing, ever globalizing world economy, Free Trade would be an attractive incentive to most countries, especially due to gains from specialization and increased consumer choice, along with encouragement of foreign investment in the local economy. However, some countries may choose to adopt protectionism in order to shield local industries from foreign competition and provide opportunities for such industries to grow. In addition, during cases of global recessions, a country may adopt protectionism in order to increase demand for home-made products, hence increasing the circulation of money within the nation, providing more jobs and cushioning the nation from some of the impacts of the recession. Hence, both protectionism and Free trade are likely policies to be taken depending on the current global situation, each with its pros and cons.

Wanted to carry on the post yesterday, but stupid blogger didnt allow me to edit my posts >.<

Alrighty, I've decided to link both girls and love together and add in a new one,

3)EMOTIONS!

It is pretty generally known that females have more emotional periods of time, that they have it really bad. Thats when you see all the crying and emotional outbursts.Well thats fine, and most of the time sympathizers will be there to help in any way they can. But it doesn't mean guys don't feel these emotions too. It's best to keep in mind that due to testerone, which gives a guy his properties, a guy would have equally bad emotional outbursts. Maybe even worst in the sense that we usually get violent tendencies when we're feeling emotional. From personal experience, feeling jealous for example, would be signified by this increase in heartrate, tensing of muscles and an inability to think about anything else.

And again, due to these emotional highs we get, we are prone to outcries of absolute randomness. Maybe saying things you completely don't mean when your pride is affected, maybe doing things you dont intend to when your feeling jealous. Maybe some of the earliest men felt that it was shameful for a guy to cry and used their own pride against them. Either way, it gets pretty bad when emotions run high like that.

I'm typing this post with a huge bee flying around my room.

Played pool today. So noob >.< It's like, I know which angle to hit e ball, or which method to get the ball in. But alls lacking is the skill to strike the white ball =D

I hope it isn't false hope again this time. Don't worry about my part, I'm keeping everything perfectly in check =)

Which brings me to the topic, it's tough being a guy. Heres 3 reasons for starters;

1) Reality

Being a guy, reality is unavoidable. Sine the day you were born, your destined to fight to the end. As you grow up, you start facing life. And realize how harsh it really is. For one, you have to learnt to stand on your own two feet, theres really noone to lean on to when your a guy. Trust me on this point. Ultimately, the only person you can rely on is yourself, to survive. Well, we learn and move on. What's next is family.

Being a man, its time to start a family. To carry on the bloodline, to have reason to carry on living, to be with he one you truly love...All are reasons we settle down eventually. Nine times out of ten, whos doing the chasing? Who gives the engagement ring? Who then supports the family? Its true, with women growing independent, its all balanced out, but realities harsh there too. How many men can stand having their wives support the family, where traditionally a mans supposed to protect and lead?

2)Girls and 3)love
Which is the most, most important point actually. A heartbreak never, ever feels nice, yet being in love is such a natural thing, that you just have to endure the later heartbreak. I'm not saying girls dont have the same problem with guys, hear me out.

When a girl breaks down because shes heartbroken, its all accepted. Just confide in someone, or better yet, get some gullible guy like me to fret over the problem with you just because we cant stand to see a girl crying. Maybe, say your a girl and you like a guy who isn't realy intersted in you. Nine times out of ten, a guy would agree to being together, maybe give it a try, who knows, it may just work out. In the one out of ten scenario, the girl could forget about him, or likely, maybe want to stick around more, maybe sometimes accidentally revealing that she hasnt gotten over him yet.

So what do we do? Comfort her, tell her nicely that it just can't happen, that we can always remain as friends, forever. Its sad, but its better than nothing. Heres a guys scenario, I) Fall in Love -> II)Freak her out -> III) GG
Wheres the sympathy in this case now?

Its been proven that a man happily in love works at 10% higher productivity than a normal man. While on the same token, a heartbroken man works at 20% less productivity than a normal person. By this alone, Love is singlehanded man's best friend and man's worst enemy at the same time.

Heres some homework, listen to love songs by female singers and those by male singers. Notice the difference in what they sing about.

Didn't feel like going to school today,so went studying at JE with Rey, Afiq and Chingyi =D

And we were Zetta lucky; someobe actually put eight credits into the machine and didn't use it. So we were thinking, why waste? xD

Realized you can actually outrun certain buses through its course in the City.
Was running late for dinner, so when me and Afiq Missed the 98 at the JE interchanged, we decided to sprint two bus stops ahead,apparently closer in the route we were using. Managed to arrive before the bus but apparently it was full( Although later we found out it was because some really inconsiderate people refused to move in, leaving a zetta huge gap. Therefore, since we had nohing to lose, we cut through the side of the Mosque, through all the HDB flats and to the old commonwealth (now hong kah) School building busstop. We arrived before the bus again and this time, managed to board it.

Anyways, I just glad to say that..Its over. Everything Will remain in my memory where they belong. Kinda relieving actually, its like i've lifted a huge rock off myself at last, that had been crushing me...slowly since that day. Don't think you readers will understand how that felt but nevertheless~ =D

I want my fairytale ending =D Would've been so perfect. But i guess i should feel lucky that i even get to almost experience a fairy tale. It'll forever be in my memory, right at the nicest, sweetest spots =D. Marshmallows bouncing~

Im getting TOO high =x meh, at least im really slicing through all that piles of HOMEWORK!! YEA! Gambatte~
