I realized that you just can't do maths at 3am in the morning and that even 4 cups of coffee cant keep you awake when your brain is just willing you to sleep.

Just got my first bout of exam pressure, haha, hope this feeling lasts, at least I can focus on what I SHOULD be focusing on *winks.

Just saw a couple of butterflies mating. Butterflies die soon after mating, the male right after the process and the female after laying the eggs. Wonder if they mate knowing fully well that they would die?

Its a pity, it takes the caterpillar forever to struggle up plants to eat the leaves and nourish itself as it awaits the next step of its life cycle. After weeks in a cocoon, it struggles to emerge as a beautiful butterfly. But in this form it only lasts for a few days before dying. Reminds me of the old phrase 'a candle burns the brightest right before going out'.

Aren't we lucky that we have so long to live? So much we can do, so much we can think about. Compared to the tiny butterfly which probably isn't even sentient enough to think about anything other than to fulfill it's primary duty here on Earth.

Maybe not.

We often wonder why these creatures struggle to reproduce when their lives are so 'meaningless'. Why bother bringing more of your kind into existence when all it does is carry on your species? Then again, aren't we just the same, albeit slightly more 'intelligent'?

Heh. Windy weather today.
